Colts GM Chris Ballard Labels NFL Players Returning to College Football 'Stupidest S--- I've Ever Heard'

Among those strongly disagreeing with this movement is Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard. While reports indicate no players from the Colts roster are currently attempting such a transition, Ballard made it clear that any player considering it would not receive his endorsement.

When questioned about whether any of his players had discussed a return to college, Ballard responded emphatically:

"No," Ballard stated. "It's the stupidest s--- I've ever heard. I'm sorry. I know I'll catch crap for this. Your entire life, you fight to get up to the NFL, but now we're gonna go back. OK, that makes a lot of freaking sense."

The Debate Over Collegiate Returns

The controversy gained prominence following instances such as Louisiana State University (LSU) enrolling athletes who had previously played under coach Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss. These particular players had already signed contracts with NFL teams before later seeking to continue their college football careers.

In response to this emerging trend, both the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Big Ten Conference have implemented policies that prohibit players who have previously appeared on professional rosters from returning to compete in collegiate sports.

Despite these conference regulations, a hearing is slated for Thursday in Baton Rouge to specifically address and review the SEC's ban concerning former professional athletes.
